Cretarolo Design

Sue Cretarolo is a Stanford graduate in art.  She developed a keen eye for color, shape, and design as a graphic designer and a fine artist over the past thirty years.  After retiring as a partner in Artefact Design in Palo Alto, California, she has focused her creativity on metal pieces.  Sue is the designer and creator of the work and her husband, Jon, helps her with production and marketing.

“Having traveled extensively throughout the world, Jon and I have long been fascinated by the rich patinas and beautiful surfaces created naturally by aged and weathered materials.  Metals are particularly intriguing because of the organic quality of their surfaces.  Using copper, brass, steel, and bronze, we are experimenting with various patinas and have been thrilled with the richness and unpredictability of the surfaces.  We’ve enjoyed incorporating pieces gathered from our travels and our particular fondness for Asia is evident in many of our pieces.
