Dayle Dunn Gallery
Oceanfront on Miramar Beach

Named one of the top 25 American Craft galleries in North America by NICHE Magazine, the Dayle Dunn Gallery takes great pride in its role as a “conduit” between the artists it represents and the clients it serves by presenting exceptional hand-crafted contemporary art, with impeccable customer service. This award also recognizes the gallery for providing a positive and memorable gallery experience; and being an educational resource for the community.

“It’s important that our guests are greeted not only with the beauty of the art, but a true sense of being cared for,” explains Dayle. “Whatever a customer’s desires are in terms of art, we can play an active role in finding what works best for them, be it making recommendations, loaning out a piece so a customer may try it in the home, or by providing complimentary delivery and installation of a work of art.”

The Dayle Dunn Gallery offers a unique, tranquil experience for customers to browse the artwork while taking in the smells, sounds, and sights of the Pacifica Ocean lapping the beach just outside the gallery’s front door.

Representing over 100 American artisans from disciplines that include ceramics, jewelry, wood, fiber, glass, painting, stone, and metal, Dayle constantly travels the country in search of new artwork. Because of this, the gallery itself is always changing giving guests the opportunity to see new things almost daily.  Every piece is specifically chosen for its high quality, its complexity, and its ability to bring joy and a distinct expression into a home. “People always ask me how they should go about finding the right art for their home,” says Dayle.  “I tell them, ‘choose what you love, what makes you happy, what fits your personality, and it will all fall into place.”

Additionally, so that customers may get a better understanding and appreciation for what goes into each one-of-a-kind piece, the gallery now features DVDs showing many featured artists at work in their studios. The informative presentation, shown on a 50” plasma screen, is a permanent installation at the gallery that runs during business hours.

The gallery is committed to actively promoting the arts by providing the public of all ages fun, educational in-store events. April through December, every third Saturday of each month, the gallery participates in Half Moon Bay’s Art Walk with extended hours, refreshments, and the chance for guests to meet a featured artist and other like-minded community members.

And, during seven of the last 14 summers, gallery visitors collectively helped create sculptures from 1,000-plus-pound boulders of pumice with the guidance of local sculptor, B. J. Stevenson. The sculptures are later named via a contest and unveiled at the gallery’s annual Customer Appreciation Gala and sold.
